The Novice Sculling program is for adults who have no rowing experience and want to learn to scull. The goal of this program is to teach rowing safety and etiquette, achieve basic sculling skills and technique in a mixed quad, and to understand the excitement and fun of the sport.
 
Participants will learn:
Basic terminology/vocabulary
Basic rowing stroke on erg
Basic rowing stroke on the water
Ability to both bow (drive) and stroke
Basic maneuvering
Basic safety responsibilities
Basic equipment carriage / usage (launching, recovering, carrying boats and oars)
Basic equipment knowledge (spread, height, pitch, stretcher positioning, basic rigging and tools)
Practice efficiency/productivity (punctuality, stretching, 90-seconds on/off dock, pre-brief/post-brief)
