Updated April 15, 2021.
We are excited by the many enthusiastic questions from returning and future rowers about getting back on the water! For anyone unfamiliar, Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) owns and controls access to the Dee Campbell Boathouse that we use. The high school crew program resumed recently, and you can see them erging outside or rowing by in their masks. ACPS has not authorized any other organizations to access the boathouse as the city moves ahead with COVID vaccinations and limited social opening. ACPS has not committed to a date for changing this policy, but we are crossing our oars, fingers, and toes for a summer season.
The Dockmasters have started to outline what that season could look like, possibly starting with only sculling and moving on from there to larger shells, following US Rowing and ACPS guidance, COVID avoidance with different scheduling, etc.
Please sign up for the ACR e-mail list to get the most current information on programs, registration, fees, etc., as they become available.
